Link Spares to an Asset

Purpose

Link Spares to a specific Asset.

Where to find

Click  in the toolbar on the Asset edit window.

How to… Link Spares to an Asset

1.   Click  then Spares in the toolbar on the Asset edit window.
The Spares for Asset window opens.

2.   Click +.
A new row appears in the Spares for Asset window.

3.   Double-click in the Stock Item data field and open the Stock Item lookup list.

4.   Select one or more Stock Items in the lookup list and click OK.

5.   The selected Stock Items appear in the Spares for Asset window.

6.   If the Stock Item is a critical spare for this Asset then highlight the Stock Item and double-click Critical

7.   If the Stock Item is an emergency spare for this Asset then highlight the Stock Item and double-click Emergency.

8.   Save the record.

As a result...

• A Stock Item that is required as a Spare is linked to the Asset.

Business rules

• Spares are active Stock Items in the Material Master.
• A Spare can only be linked to an Asset for which Maintain this Asset (MSI) is ticked.

Please note!

• Double-click on a Stock Item's Code to display the Stock Item details.
