Purpose
Add, edit or delete records “on the fly” (without having to initiate a function from the Main Menu) by double-clicking in a field with an associated lookup on an edit window or a detail edit window.
The button next to a data field on an edit window or detail edit window indicates that a lookup is available for the associated item.
How to... Add a record “on the fly”
1. Double-click in the data field with an associated Lookup list.
The edit window for the item associated with the data field opens.
2. Click + in the toolbar.
3. Enter the required data in the empty edit window.
4. Save the record.
5. Close the edit window.
6. Click on the edit window or detail edit window.
7. Select the required record in the Lookup list to populate the data field in step 1.
How to... Edit the current record “on the fly”
1. Double-click in a data field with an associated Lookup list.
The edit window for the item associated with the data field opens.
2. Change the data as required.
3. Save the record.
4. Close the edit window.
How to... Delete the current record “on the fly”
1. Double-click in a data field with an associated Lookup list.
The edit window for the item associated with the data field opens.
2. Click - in the edit window toolbar.
3. A confirmation message appears.
4. Click Yes to confirm that the record must be deleted.
