Add Asset Type Folders

Purpose

Add an Asset Type folder to the Root Asset or another Asset Type folder in the Asset Type Tree.

How to… Add an Asset Type Folder 

1.   Click Asset Register then double-click Asset Type Tree.
The Asset Type Tree window opens.

2.   Highlight the Asset Type folder to which an Asset Type folder must be added.

3.   Click  then New Folder.
The Asset Type Folder edit window opens.

4.   Enter the Code, Description and Site on the Asset Type Folder - Header tab.
Refer to the Asset Type - Header tab topic for information about these data fields.

5.   Save the Asset Type Folder.

As a result...

• The Asset Type Folder is added to the Asset Type model.
• The Asset Type Folder’s Development Status is “Confirmed”.

Business rules

• The Asset Type Code must be unique.
• An Asset Type Folder can only be added to the root of the Asset Type Tree or another Asset Type Folder.
