Asset Type models in the Asset Type Tree are the building blocks for physical Assets in the Asset Tree.
Asset Types provide an efficient mechanism to simulate the “real world” maintenance environment, and to minimise the effort required to configure and maintain the Asset Register of physical Assets.
Structure the Asset Type Tree with folders for each of the following basic groups of Asset Types.
In a manufacturing or production environment these folders are suggested:
Functional Units, which operate independently and are used to build Sub Assemblies.
Sub Assemblies, which are used to build Machines.
Machines, which are used to build Production Lines.
