Placeholder for a Component that will be derived from a specific Asset Type. |
The Asset Type model for the Asset Type specified as the Asset Type Placeholder. |
An inherited Asset Component Placeholder is used when a specific Asset Type and all its sub items will be used to configure a unique Filled Component.
The Component is inherited or derived from a specific Asset Type, which reduces configuration time and enhances accuracy in the Asset Tree when changes are rolled out via synchronisation.
Business rules
The Asset Type specified as the Linked Asset Type must be a Sub Asset Type of the Asset Type Placeholder , or the Asset Type Placeholder itself.
Linked Asset Types, Asset Type Placeholders and In-place Asset Types are not inherited by a Component Placeholder.
Tasks can be added to an Asset Component Placeholder.
Please note!
An Asset Component Placeholder is inherited from an Asset Type Component Placeholder for the Asset Type that is specified as the Asset Type Placeholder.
The Inheritance Type on the Asset Component-Header tab indicates that the Component Placeholder was inherited from the Asset Type Tree.
An inherited Component Placeholder's Alternative Description can be modified to reflect the physical Component.
The Asset Type model for the Asset Type specified as the Component Placeholder's Asset Type Placeholder may not contain any In-place Asset Types, Asset Type Placeholders or Linked Asset Types.
A Component Placeholder inherits the following items from the Asset Type on which it is based:
Attributes, Documents, Notes
Asset Components and Asset Tasks.
Examples
A placeholder for a Component that will be derived from a specific Sub Asset Type of the generic “Gearbox” Asset Type is added to the Asset or Component in the Asset Tree.
