Instances of Asset Types

Definition

An instance of an Asset Type is a physical Asset that is based on an Asset Type.

Multiple instances of a unique Asset Type can exist as physical Assets that are based on the same Asset Type.

- Example -

In this example, “Motor 1” in the physical Asset Tree is an instance of the “AC Motor” Asset Type, and “GE Motor 1” and “GE Motor 2” are of instances of the “GE AC Motor” Asset Type.
