Save new and changed items in the Asset Tree

Purpose

Save a new or changed item in the Asset Tree.

Where to find

• In the toolbar on an item’s edit window or detail edit window.

How to... Save an item in the Asset Tree

1.   Click .

Please note!

• Changes only affect the item displayed in the edit window or detail edit window.
• An item in the Asset Tree is changed without changing its Development Status.

Best practice

• Accept a new item’s development before editing the item.

As a result...

• A new original item is saved with Development Status “New - Awaiting Confirmation” and Inheritance Type = ‘Original”.
• An inherited item is saved with Development Status “New - Awaiting Confirmation” and Inheritance Type = “Inherited”.
• A modified item is saved with its current Development Status (“New - Awaiting Confirmation”, “Confirmed”, or “Modified - Awaiting Confirmation”)
