Asset Types
Business rules
- An Asset Type can be re-used to configure an Asset Type Placeholder, a Linked Asset Type or a Component in the Asset Type Tree.
- A Component or Task cannot be re-used in the Asset Type Tree.
- An item in the Asset Type Tree cannot be deleted if it has been used in the Asset Tree.
Please note!
- If an item that has been added to an Asset model is not visible then click
Refresh when the cursor is positioned at the next level up and check the Display Options.
- Click
next to an item to refresh the tree structure of child items below the item.
- Deactivate inherited items that do not apply to a descendant Sub Asset Type.
- An item’s Alt. Description can be translated via Standard Phrases if words and/or phrases are captured between curly brackets.
For example, “{Pumps}” or “{Check Alignment}”.
Refer to ACCF > Master data for Shared Configuration > Standard Phrases.
- The Asset Type’s Alt. Description appears in the Asset Type Tree.
The Alt. Description defaults to the Asset’s Description but it can be completely different.
- Add an Asset Type Placeholder to re-use an existing Asset Type and if maintenance history must be kept for the Asset.
- “Copy and paste” functionality can be used for an item in the Asset Type Tree.
Click >>, Edit - Copy to copy the selected item, then click >>, Edit - Paste to paste the copied item into the required Asset Type model.
