Calendars

Purpose

Calendars assist in scheduling work; they indicate the work pattern of the workshop or section, and are used to suppress scheduled seasonal tasks or to force scheduled maintenance tasks to fall due on weekend (non-working) days or non-weekend (working) days.

Working and Non-working Days

A working day is a day on which tasks can be scheduled and maintenance staff will be working.
Non-weekend days are assumed to be working days, however a weekend day may be specified as a working day via a calendar exception.

A non-working day is a day on which maintenance staff will not be working so tasks must not be scheduled for this day. Weekend days are assumed to be non-working days, however a non-weekend day may be specified as a non-working day via a calendar exception.
