Asset Types and Assets are made up of Components and sub assemblies of Components that are used for maintenance management and performance management.
A Component can be defined in the Asset Type Tree and inherited as a Component in the Asset Tree, or added in the Asset Tree.
These types of Components are linked to an Asset or another Component:
The Asset Type Tree shows the hierarchical relationship between an Asset Type and its Components.
A generic Asset Type Component is configured once and re-used to configure Asset Type models for Asset Types.
Asset Type Components can be added to:
Tasks can be added to each Asset Type Component.
The Asset Tree shows the hierarchical relationship between an Asset and its Components.
A unique Component that only applies to a specific Asset can be added; all other Components are inherited from the Asset Type model for the Asset Type on which the Asset is based when the Component is synchronised with the corresponding Asset Type Component.
Components can be added to:
Work Orders can be generated for the Tasks that are configured for the Component.
An Asset Type Component Placeholder is added to an Asset Type model when an Asset Type is used to configure a Linked Component and all its child items in an Asset Type model.
The Component Placeholder identifies the generic Asset Type Placeholder, and the specific Linked Asset Type is not selected.
If the specific Linked Asset Type is known then a Linked Component is derived from a specific Sub Asset Type of the generic Asset Type (or the generic Asset Type itself) that is specified for the Component Placeholder, and inherits the properties and sub items from the Sub Asset Type. The Linked Component is inherited as a Filled Component in the Asset Tree.
An Asset Component Placeholder is used to configure a Filled Component (and all its child items and linked detail records) that is derived from an Asset Type.
Asset Component Placeholders are inherited from Asset Type Component Placeholders as a result of synchronisation, or added to an Asset model in the Asset Tree.
The Component Placeholder identifies the generic Asset Type from which an Asset Component is derived until the specific Sub Asset Type is selected and a Filled Component replaces a Component Placeholder.
Failure Analysis can be configured for an Asset Type Component, and consists of:
