Asset Types

Asset Types are models of generic types of Assets and are used to simplify configuration of Assets.

Assets

The organisation’s Asset Register is represented as the Asset Tree in On Key and comprises:

Asset items in the Asset Tree hierarchy that represent departments, sections, lines, etc. and will not be maintained, assessed or monitored, and
Asset items that represent physical Assets in the factory, plant or facility for which work, assessment and monitoring history is kept.

An Asset is an instance of the Asset Type on which it is based, has the same structure as the Asset Type, and can be modified to suit the situation at a specific Site.

Sites

The factory, plant or facility where the organisation’s Assets and associated items are defined in the Asset Register.
