Data is mandatory and has been filled in. |
Bright Yellow |
Data is mandatory and must be filled in. Yellow is the default background colour but a user can specify another colour. |
Light Grey |
Data is displayed and editing is disabled. The label and data value are displayed in light grey (greyed-out). The data value changes as a result of editing elsewhere in the system. For example, the Staff Member’s Description on the Staff Member edit window is displayed and disabled after it is saved so that it can’t be edited. |
Dark Grey |
Data is displayed and read-only. The data value is displayed in black text on a grey background and can be copied. Double-click on the data value to open the applicable edit window. For example, the Site Currency on the Staff Member’s Maintenance Manager tab. |
Pale Red |
The data is not valid and must be corrected before the record can be saved. |
Saving data
Save changes before closing the edit window or opening another window.
A warning message appears if the user tries to close an edit window before saving the changes, which provides the option to save or cancel the edit.
Data changes are automatically validated and an error message appears in the Errors and Warnings frame for each invalid data field.
Please note!
Disabled data values are displayed in light grey and cannot be changed on the edit window
Read-only data values are displayed in black text on a grey background.
The data value can be copied and pasted into another window, and if applicable, in some cases can be changed by double-clicking on the data value to open its edit window.
