Add General Ledger Accounts

Purpose

Add a general ledger account for use in costing transactions and budget transactions.

How to … Add a General Ledger Account

 

  1. Open the General Ledger browse window and click the Insert New Record () button on the toolbar to open the edit window.

  2. Complete the fields on the Header tab.

  3. Click the Save Changes () button to create the new general ledger.

Data fields

These data fields are captured on the General Ledger - Header Tab.

Field

Description

Code

Unique code used to identify the general ledger. For example, 'GL_PROD'.

Description

Detailed description of the general ledger. For example 'Production General Ledger'.

Site

Identifies the site that will have access to this general ledger. Users with access rights to this site can view and use this general ledger.

Active

Indicates whether the general ledger is available for use in On Key.
