Linking Loss Reasons to an Asset

By linking loss reasons to an asset, you indicate which possible loss reasons it could encounter. You must link capacity and quality loss reasons to an asset if you want to monitor and measure it using the Performance Manager functionality.

Notes:

• Loss reasons can only be linked to an asset if the Track Offline Performance check box is selected on the Details tab.
• The capacity and quality loss reasons must be configured before they can be linked to the asset.
• The process for linking capacity loss reasons and quality reasons are similar.

To link a loss reason to an asset, you need to do the following:

1. Open the asset's edit window.

2. Click the Detail Edit Windows () button on the toolbar and select either Capacity Loss Reasons or Quality Loss Reasons.
   
   

3. Click the Add Loss Reasons () button on the toolbar to open the Lookup window.
   
   

4. Hold the CTRL key and select the reasons you want to link to the asset, and then click the OK button.
   
   

5. Click the Save Changes () button to save the asset.
