Linking Loss Reasons to Asset Types

By linking loss reasons to an asset type, you indicate which possible loss reasons assets of this type could encounter. You must link capacity and quality loss reasons to an asset if you want to monitor and measure using the Performance Manager functionality.

Notes:

• The capacity and quality loss reasons must be configured before they can be linked to the asset type.
• The process for linking capacity loss reasons and quality reasons are similar.

To link a loss reason to an asset type, you need to do the following:

1. Open the asset type's edit window.

2. Click the Detail Edit Windows () button on the toolbar and select either Capacity Loss Reasons or Quality Loss Reasons.
   
   

3. Click the Add Loss Reasons () button on the toolbar top open the Lookup window.
   
   

4. Hold the CTRL key and select the reasons you want to link to the asset type, and click the OK button.
   
   

5. Click the Save Changes () button to save the asset type.
