Add a Work Order for an Asset

Purpose

Create a Work Order for the specified Asset in the Asset Tree window.

Where to find

Click  in the toolbar on the Asset edit window.

How to… Add a Work Order for an Asset

1.   Open the Asset edit window.

2.   Click .
The Work Order edit window opens, with the Asset populated.

3.   Enter the Work Order details.
Refer to WPC > Work Order functionality > Add a Work Order for unplanned work for information.

4.   Save the Work Order.

5.   Close the window to return to the Asset Tree window.

As a result…

• An unplanned Work Order is created for this Asset.
• The default Status for unplanned Work Orders is specified in Shared Configuration - System Options - System Options - Work Orders tab.

Business rules

• The Asset must be active and Maintain this Asset (MSI) must be ticked.
