Managing Failure Analysis

Note: Failure Analysis is only available if the Criticality Configuration module is enabled. Check your On Key license to determine whether you have access to this functionality.

This topic shows you how to do the following:

  1. Remove failure analysis items
  2. Accept or reject development changes
  3. Copy failure analysis

How to ... Remove Failure Analysis Items

  1. Select the required element in the FMEA panel.

  2. Click the Remove () button on the toolbar.

  3. Click the Yes button to confirm that you want to remove the selected component.

  4. Click the Save Changes () button on the toolbar to save the failure analysis.

NOTE: Removing a parent item will remove all items that exist below it. For example, removing a root cause will remove all the repair types and tasks that exist below.

How to ... Change Failure Analysis Development Statuses

  1. Select the required component in the FMEA panel.

  2. Click the Development Status () button on the toolbar and select one of the following options:

    Development Status

    Description

    Accept Development

    Accept failure analysis changes and apply to child objects

    Reject Development

    Reject and discard failure analysis changes

    Compare Changes

    Highlights differences between the current failure analysis items and the pending changes

  3. Click the Yes button to confirm.

  4. Click the OK button to continue.

How to ... Copy Failure Analysis

This functionality enables you to copy an existing failure analysis from another component.

  1. Open the FMEA window for the required component.

  2. Click the Copy from Component () button on the toolbar, and select one of the following options from the menu:

  1. Locate and select the required component in the tree, and click the OK button.

  2. Click the Save Changes () button to save the changes.
