Trades

A trade represents a specific skillset that exists in a section. Staff members are assigned to trades based on the skills they possess, as well as their competency levels. For example, a 'Plumber' trade can be created to group all staff members that do plumbing work in a specific section. The diagram below illustrates this example.

Virtual Trades

On Key also enables you to create virtual trades. Virtual trades are trades that consist of other trades, instead of individual staff members. They are used to create a logical grouping of trades that are capable of performing a specific type of work. This means that work assigned to a virtual trade can be performed by any staff member from any of the included trades. For example, the diagram below shows a virtual trade that includes the 'Handyman' and 'Operator' trades. Any work assigned to this virtual trade can be performed by Jack, John, Scott, or Mark.
