How to use the On Key Help File

This Help File contains detailed information about On Key, its features and functionality, and how to use them. The following section describes how to most effectively this Help File, and how to find the content that you require.

Help File structure

The Help File has been developed using a core structure that closely follows the On Key Main Menu. It therefore includes the following sections:

Asset Register
Asset Care Plans

Analysis and Monitoring
Shared Configuration
Analytics

This Help File also includes the following additional sections:

Getting Started — Explains how to log in and access various information relating to On Key.
Using On Key 5 — Explains how navigate On Key, and describes some general features, including keyboard shortcuts, accessibility, and language and currency support.
Workflows — Describes configuration and transaction workflows in On Key.
How Do I? — Provides step-by-step instructions on how to perform common tasks.

Finding Content

To locate specific content in the Help File, you can either:

Browse the contents menu
Perform a search

How to … Search for Content

Click the Search tab in the navigation pane.
Enter the search criteria (keywords) in the Search text box and press Enter.
In the search results, click the title of the section that you want to open.

Search Modifiers

These are the search operators that can be used in conjunction with the keywords.

Operator	Allows you to…
and / & / , (comma) / (space)	Find topics that contain both of the specified keywords.
or	Broaden the search by finding topics that contain either or both of the specified keywords
not	Restrict the search by finding topics that contain either of the specified keywords, but not both
near	Narrow the search by finding topics that contain either of the specified keywords when they are in close proximity to each other in the topic
phrase	Find topics that contain an exact phrase.

Tool Tips

In addition to the Help File, On Key provides various tool tips, which display when the cursor is positioned over certain items. These provide information about the item and/or its function.
