Adding, editing and deleting Items in the Asset Type Tree

The following standard functions can be performed on items in an Asset Type model and rules apply for each function.

Changing an item’s data values

An item in the Asset Type Tree can be changed or deleted if its Development Status is “New - Under Development”, “New - Awaiting Confirmation”, “Modified - Under Development”, “Modified - Awaiting Confirmation” or “Confirmed”.

When the changed item is saved then its Development Status changes to “Modified - Under Development”.

Change the selected record's Development Status so that the item can be changed.

Tick Apply to children to change the Development Status of the selected record’s child items in the Asset Type model.

Tick Apply to descendants to change the Development Status of the corresponding item in each Asset Type model for descendant Sub Asset Types , Linked Asset Types and Linked Components.

Change Status to Awaiting Confirmation

Change the selected record's Development Status so that development changes can be confirmed by the responsible person.

Tick Apply to children to change the Development Status of the selected record’s child items in the Asset Type model.

Tick Apply to descendants to change the Development Status of the corresponding item in each Asset Type model for descendant Sub Asset Types , Linked Asset Types and Linked Components.

Change Status to Deleted Awaiting Confirmation

Change the Development Status for an In-Place Asset Type, Asset Type Placeholder, Linked Asset Type, Component, Linked Component, Task or linked detail record.

For an original item:

  • Tick Apply to children to change the Development Status of original child items in the Asset Type model.
  • Tick Apply to descendants to change the Development Status of the corresponding item in each Asset Type model for descendant Sub Asset Types , Linked Asset Types and Linked Components.

For an inherited item if it’s immediate parent item in the tree structure has Development Status “DAC”:

  • Tick Apply to children to change the Development Status of inherited child items in the Asset Type model.
  • Tick Apply to descendants to change the Development Status of the corresponding item in each Asset Type model for descendant Sub Asset Types , Linked Asset Types and Linked Components.

Accept development changes and change the Development Status for the selected record.

  • Tick Apply to children to accept development changes for the selected record’s child items.

Tick Apply to children to delete all child items.

Tick Apply to descendants to delete the corresponding item in each Asset Type model for descendant Sub Asset Types, Linked Asset Types and Linked Components.

Reject changes for an original item and deactivate the selected record.

Tick Apply to children to reject changes for child items.

Apply the last confirmed changes for the selected item (Asset Type, In-Place Asset Type, Asset Type Placeholder, Linked Asset Type, Component, Task or linked detail record) to the corresponding items in each inherited Asset model that is based on this item’s parent Asset Type, and from the selected record down in the tree structure for each child item and its linked detail records.

Tick Apply to descendants to apply the last confirmed changes for an Asset Type to the corresponding items in each Asset model that is based on a Sub Asset Type, Linked Asset Type or Linked Component of this Asset Type, and from the selected record down in the tree structure for each child item and its linked detail records.
