Delete an Asset

Deleting an asset permanently removes the asset and all of its child items and linked detail records from the Asset Tree.

Note:

• An asset cannot be deleted if it is linked to any reference items, such as work orders.
• Assets that cannot be deleted due to linked reference items must be made inactive.
• The MSI count will be decreased by 1 if the deleted asset was an MSI asset.
• Refer to Rules for deleting an item in the Asset Tree for more information.

To delete and asset from the Asset Tree, you need to:

1. Open the Asset Tree.

2. Locate the required asset and open its edit window.

3. Click the Delete Current Record () button on the asset edit window toolbar.
   
   

4. Click the Yes button to confirm that you want to delete the asset.
