How to... Reject Development of an item in an Asset model

1. Highlight an item in the tree structure or open its edit window.

2. Select then Reject Development in the Main Menu.
The Reject Development dialog box opens.

3. Tick Apply to children to reject development of the selected item and all its child items (and all their linked detail records) in the same Assert model.

4. Click Yes.

Reject Development options

These Reject Development options are available in the Asset Tree.

Apply to the selected record

This option is always ticked.

Reject development changes for the record displayed in the item’s edit window or highlighted in the Asset Tree, and its linked detail records.

The selected record can be an Asset, In-Place Asset, Asset Placeholder, Filled Asset Placeholder, Component, Component Placeholder, Filled Component, Task, or a linked detail record for any of these items.

Apply to children

Optional.

Not applicable for a Task and its linked detail records.

Not applicable for a Standard Task.

Reject development changes for each child item and its linked detail records.

As a result...

If the selected record’s Development Statusis “NAC” then:
- Changes for the selected record and its linked detail records are rejected.
- Changes for each child item and its linked detail records are rejected if Apply to children is ticked.
- Each item is “Inactive”.
If the selected record’s Development Statusis “MAC” then:
- Changes for the selected record and its linked detail records are rejected.
- Changes for each child item and its linked detail records are rejected if Apply to children is ticked.
- Each item’s Development Status is “Confirmed”.
If the selected record’s Development Statusis ‘DAC’ then:
- Changes for the selected record and its linked detail records are rejected.
  The last confirmed values for the selected record and its linked detail records are reinstated/restored.
- Changes for each child item and its linked detail records are rejected if Apply to children is ticked.
  The last confirmed values for each child item and its linked detail records are reinstated/restored.
- Each item’s Development Status is “Confirmed”.

Business rules

An Asset’s development can only be rejected in the Asset Tree.
Development of a sub item can only be rejected if the Development Status for its originating or parent item is “Confirmed”.
An item with Development Status “Deleted - Confirmed” is not displayed and cannot be edited in the Asset Tree.

Please note!

A user must have the appropriate User Rights to Reject an item’s development in the Asset Tree. Refer to Rights to use Development functionality for more information.
An Asset for which development is being rejected is locked and cannot be used by another user.
