Tasks in the Asset Tree

Purpose

Describe maintenance tasks that must take place to prevent Failure of a Component, and other tasks that are not preventative in nature.

For example, the “Replace Casing” Task could apply to the “Casing” Component when Failure “Cracked” of the “Mechanical Failures” Failure Type occurs.

Asset Tasks are added and managed in the same way as Asset Type Tasks. Visit the Tasks lesson to learn more about adding and managing tasks.

Business rules

An Asset in the Asset Tree inherits all the Components and Tasks from the Asset Type on which it is based.
A Task can be added to an Asset or Component in an Asset model.
Tasks can be added to MSI and non-MSI assets.
A Standard Task can be added to an Asset or Component in an Asset model.
A Task cannot be moved (cut and paste).
A Task that has been included in a Work Order cannot be deleted.
Mandatory Tasks (with Mandatory ticked on the Task - Details tab) must be executed before a Work Order is closed.

Please note!

The Inheritance Type on the Asset Task - Header tab indicates whether the Task was inherited from the Asset Type Tree or originated in the Asset Tree.
