Link a profile design to an operational role

Operation roles are used to link profile designs to specific users. You must first create the design profile, link it to an operation role, and then assign the operational role to the users.

Notes:

Operation roles are managed using the Operational Roles window, which can be accessed by selecting Main Menu - Share Configuration - Operational Roles.

To create an operational role, you need to do the following:

  1. Open the Operational Roles browse window.

  2. Click the Insert New Record () button to open the edit window.

  3. Complete the following fields on the Header tab:


    Field

    Description

    Code Uniquely identifies the operational role in On Key.
    Description Provides a brief description of the operational role.
    Site Indicates which sites have access to the operational role.
  4. Click the Save Changes () button.

  5. Click the Detail Edit Windows () button and select Operational Role Profiles.



  6. In the detail edit window, click the Add Operation Role Profiles () button to view a list of profile designs.



  7. Select the design profile you want to add to the operation role and click OK.
    Note: You can only link one design profile to an operational role.

  8. Click the Save Changes () button ad close the detail edit window.

  9. Click the Save Changes () button ad close the Operational Role edit window.
