Adding Stationary Time to Asset Calendars

Stationary time is used to define time slots for when an asset will not be in motion, ie. offline. These time slots are specified in the form of calendar exceptions, which are then inherited by all assets that make use of the calendar. Stationary exceptions are used to determine how work is allocated when using the automatic daily allocation functionality. Visit the Automatic Daily Allocation topic to learn more about how work is allocated.

NOTE:

To add a stationary exception to an asset calendar, you need to perform the following steps:

  1. Add an exception to the asset calendar.

  2. Specify the exception hours during which the asset will be stationary.

  3. Ensure that the correct classification is selected for the exception hours.

NOTE: Adding a stationary exception to a working day makes the asset unavailable (ie offline) for the entire day. For example, if a stationary exception is added from 8am till 12pm on a working day, the asset will be unavailable for the entire day.

If you want to make the asset available for the remainder of the day, you need to add a second calendar exception without a classification for those hours. For example, if you want an asset to be stationary from 8am till 12pm, and you want it to become available from 12pm till 5pm on the same day, you need to do the following:

  1. Add a stationary exception from 8am till 12pm by following the steps above

  2. Add a second exception with no classification from 12pm till 5pm.
