Purpose
Compare an inherited item's data field values with the data field values for the item in the Asset Type model from which it is derived, and provide a view of the differences between the inherited item and its ancestor item in the Asset Type Tree.
Identify differences between proposed but not confirmed changes for an inherited item in an Asset model, the current record, and the details for its ancestor item in the Asset Type Tree.
Where to find
The Compare Changes tool is available on browse windows, edit windows, and detail edit windows in the Asset Tree
Ancestor
An ancestor is an item in an Asset Type model which has descendant items in the Asset Tree that inherit the ancestor item’s properties and sub items.

Please note!
The Quantity for the Asset Type Task was changed from “1” to “5” so after the Asset Task was synchronised with its Asset Type Task, the Proposed Value for the Asset Task is “5”. The Current Value for the Asset Task is “1” and must be retained so select Current Value “1” (the background changes to faded orange) and then click Save. As a result the Proposed Value is rejected and changes to “1”.
