Configure Asset models

Purpose

Configure Asset models for each physical Asset and its related Components and Tasks.

Before you start

• Configure the required Asset Type model.

How to… Configure an Asset model in the Asset Tree

1.   Open the Asset Tree window and expand the Asset Tree to the required level.

2.   Click the company name or Asset to which an Asset model will be added.

3.   Add an Asset and select the Asset Type on which it is based.

4.   Synchronise the Asset with the Asset Type on which it is based.

5.   Refresh the Asset and expand the Asset model to view all the items.

6.   Add additional Components to the Asset if necessary.

7.   Add a Component Placeholder to the Asset if applicable.

8.   Add a Component Placeholder to the Asset Component if applicable.

9.   Add additional Tasks to each Asset Component if necessary.

Please note!

• Accept development for each item that is added.
• Synchronise an item to:
• • Update the selected record with the last confirmed changes for the corresponding item in the Asset Type model for the Asset Type on which the item’s parent Asset is based, and update the selected record’s linked detail records with the last confirmed changes.
  • Update items in Asset models for inherited Sub Assets, Filled Asset Placeholders, Filled Components and their linked detail records with the last confirmed changes for the corresponding item in the Asset Type Tree.
• Inherited items are added with Development Status “NAC”.
• Modified items have Development Status “MAC”.
• Inherited deleted items have Development Status “DAC”.
• An Asset is a MSI if Maintain this Asset is ticked on the Asset - Details tab.

On Key master data

Add these mandatory data items for the business processes identified in this table.
(Legend: l = Initial configuration; ¢ = Additional configuration).
